New Kid On The Block

What a great little site! I look forward to reading more here.

I am fairly new to blogging and started my own to follow my journey back to good health.

I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis ten years ago. Eating vegan many years ago, the disease went into remission. I fell off the wagon and went back to SAD food, only to have the IC return.

Looking forward to good health once again!

Three healthy habits to fight childhood obesity

One in three American kids is overweight or obese. Many of our kids start accumulating extra weight—or develop the habits that will lead to weight gain later on—in very early childhood, setting them up for a lifelong struggle with both weight and a multitude of chronic diseases.

But many parents don’t pay much attention to obesity prevention advice; they don’t believe it’s relevant to their kids. They’re more focused on making sure their kids develop well, and th

Fast-food companies market grilled chicken as a healthful option, but most consumers have no idea that the products harbor a dangerous carcinogen. Two Connecticut residents have teamed up with The Cancer Project to file a class-action lawsuit demanding thatContinue

Old Food: What to Keep, What to Toss

I was having breakfast with a friend recently, and when I peeled my banana, I discovered that the top half was brown and bruised. I nonchalantly broke the banana in half and proceeded to eat the non-offending portion, bu

Winter Blues

This is the time of the year when it is very easy to become depressed or
to get the "wintertime blues". If you find yourself lacking in energy
or just do not feel like doing things that you normally enjoy, you may
have a mild case of the blues. If you are finding that the cold
temperatures and the gray skies are affecting your outlook on the day,
you will be glad to hear that there are some very simple things you can
do to help you.

The recipe for a long and healthy life

Do you want to live to 100?

For most of us, a long and well-lived life sounds rather tempting. So what can we do to get as much out of life as we can, for as long as we can?

It turns out we know some important things about what influences longevity; there’s even a fun game online that will estimate how old you’ll live to be. All you have to do is answer 40 quick questions related to your health and family history and a calculator (at the end of this post) will do the rest.

I’m not of… Continue

I totally agree with you Barbara! Fage is delicious! I use it for curries, dressings, or by itself. Greek yogurt is much better than regular :)

SPlenda and Equal and artificial sweeteners are a big NO in my world. I know two holistic nutritional biochemists and both tell me "no way." Raw honey and agave seem to be okay to use in moderation.

Nasty taste? Wow..have you tried Fage? I try to avoid ALL dairy, but every now and then allow myself a dollop of Greek Fage yogurt. I love it. It tastes like rich creamy sour cream.
