Thanks for the invite Lisa. I'm up for the challenge too. Did my initial test last Saturday and managed a *huge* 18 good-form push ups :)

Sunday was Week 1, Day 1 and tonight I'm moving on with Day 2 if my sore pecs will allow it!

Should be a fun six weeks and a great supplement to my typical running training...

Steve, even though I posted the blog today, I started Week 1, Day 1 on Sunday, after my initial test of 11 "girl" push-ups. I'm doing Day 2 today.

Yupp, I'm looking foward to seeing if I can complete the challenge and do 100 push-ups. I never thought I'd be able to, so I'm excited to give it a try.

I'm doing the challenge too! I could only squeak out 5 regular push ups, so I'm following level 1 plan. Even if I don't get to 100, I'll be happy with more than 5! :)

Good luck with this Lisa. I am going to sign up as well. I'm starting at 63 and that has been my limit for a few weeks now.

63???? Wow, you'll be able to do the first weeks pretty easily, or at least I would think so. I started at 11, which was just into Level 3, but when I looked at the push-up requirements, I decided to start at Level 2.

Good luck and please keep us up-to-date...............:)

Wow, Day 2 is a bit harder than Day 1 was. Based on the program, I had to do 9, 9, 6, 5, 7 push-ups with at least 90 seconds between each set. Today, I took a little more than 90 seconds, but managed to finish all of them.

How was your day today?

I thought I'd be more sore today, but I actually feel pretty good..............:)

OK I feel like such a whimp. I've been avoiding this post because I didn't want to test my abilities of push ups--something I wrote about in this article and I push a lot to my clients because I think they make a great 'quick' workout and cover tons of muscles. Anyway, I can do 20 regular push ups and about 30 girl push ups. I'm in training and hope to get that number way up.

I'm sharing this with my friends at CR8 Health "Do Something New" 30 day challenge where Nancy 's goal is to do a one arm push up--Yikes!!

Will be back soon to provide my latest numbers--good luck to all!

did day 2 and feeling great! I noticed that my form is not as good on the first set as it is on the final set.

This is a great challenge and just think of it ... in 6 weeks we'll all be doing more push ups in one go than what we are doing now. Well, I will be! And that will be a win.
I have to say how powerful these communities are. 10 weeks ago I wouldn't have got off the couch. TV or web browsing was FAR too important.
Now? Now I get edgy if I miss a day of exercise (like today)
Thanks to everyone who blogs about their health challenges. You're making at least one person to to be better.
Thanks to Steve for starting the challenge and to everyone who's taken it up.
This forum is a good idea too, Lisa!

I'm in--although I have to be careful b/c it strains the same muscles that I swim with.

I never thought I could EVER do a push up but since starting working with my trainer I can do about 10 which is a HUGE goal for me. I am hoping to be able to do 100 one day!
