I've discovered lately, that I really like dates.
I've checked and they are 25 calories each.
I was wondering if they'd make a good snack (say 2 or 3) or if they're too high in natural sugars and I should look for somethign else. I'm trying to stay away from granola bars and such and find healthy simple snacks that don't need to be refrigerated.
Anyone have any ideas?

Personally, I love goldfish.
Trail mix is a good one as well.
Sounds like a good snack to me, but you'd definitely have to limit how many you consume a day. Have you found out exactly how much sugar is in them? But still, even the lowest calorie fruits shouldn't be over consumed because of the sugar.
I just recently started eating dried figs, and they're great, because they are soooo full of fiber! You eat a few of them, and your hunger seems to just vanish. At 40 cals a pop, I have to be careful not to go overboard.
For lower cal fruits, I stick to frozen grapes, watermelon squares, and green apples. The frozen grapes are good because you can't just eat them quickly like you do regular ones. Might be worth a try if you're really trying to stay on the low end?
Speaking of frozen, one of my daughter's favorite snacks is frozen grapefruit, when its in season. I never got into it, but she loves it........................:)
Dates are a great snack. One thing you might do, which is really good, is insert an almond into the date. The almond has all sorts of health benefits, and the combination helps you to feel "fuller" while eating less dates.

If Mike reads this, is your site LiveLife365? The almond video is hilarious...I'll see if I can find it and add it to the thread.
3 dates are considered a fruit serving.
dates are a good source of fiber so watch out. Fruit or some veggies like carrots and celery do pretty good.
Almond butter sandwich on multi grain or whole wheat. Almonds, cashews or walnuts. Make your own trailmix.
I use protein packets, fruit (apple, bannana), nuts/trail mix, cliff bars or protein bars and tuna packets when I travel.
