I stopped doing DVDs about 2 months ago and started inventing my own cardio & strength workouts. I'm amazed that I'm still getting results and losing weight!
There are some really good DVD's out there but I like making my own workouts (strength & cardio) It puts me into the science of exercise and I learn more.
I think when people develop their own workouts and nutritional program they really take ownership of it and would have the success that they desire.

I did p90x, and I still use it plus other DVDs, but I agree with other posters. I enjoy putting together my own fitness programs now. It just make things more interesting over the long haul!
I have never been a big fan of dvd-workouts. I do one about once a week to keep up on the techniques they are covering. I make it a point of getting out to walk/run outside as much as possible, or to exercise with others whenever possible. I find that without the human interaction, it is always hard for me to keep motivated by DVD's alone.
I agree. It is easy to get bored with our exercise routines. In my article Blurt: Ho Hum Gotta Exercise I offer some solutions to overcome the boredom of exercise. I like to change my routine around to overcome this boredom. I have lost over 80 pounds and I am living a healthier lifestyle. I have come a long way since my days of being bed ridden and I am continuing in my journey to success. I wish you the best of luck in overcoming your boredom. Have a great day!
