What can anyone do to prepare for the return of H1N1 this fall? Will it come back more virulent than ever?

A lot of epidemiologists think it will. Those dang bugs are clever and adaptable. But, as I've been reading, a lot of problems and physical unease associated with cold and flu isn't from the virus itself, but from over-reaction of the immune system to the bug. Balance, grasshopper, balance. That's a key.

They say that washing your hands is one of the best ways to avoid or lessen contracting this virus. As far as Superbugs go, I doubt that there's much one can do--in degree and kind--once infected. Which of course, is unfortunate.
I'm not quite convinced yet that there's nothing anyone can do (beyond hand washing, that is).
I understand but I was coming at it from the fact that it's an airborne virus. Once you've contracted it you're stuck with it until you recover from it. I assume the CDC has guidelines.

What You Can Do to Stay Healthy

* Stay informed. This website will be updated regularly as information becomes available.
* Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
* Take everyday actions to stay healthy.
o Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
o Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
o Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
o Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
* Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.
* Find healthy ways to deal with stress and anxiety.

Forced Vaccinations -- A Real Threat Against Your Health and Freedom

A review of the documentation Burgermeister provides makes at least one thing crystal clear, and that is this: there are enough legal provisions already in place to make a mandated, forced vaccination program a reality, giving certain agencies the authority to go as far as using deadly force to ensure compliance.

And, in return for your submitting to the jab under duress, there are no actual guarantees of the safety of the vaccine, and if things do go wrong, you have no legal recourse whatsoever to sue anyone, anywhere, for damages.

This would be an absolute nightmare and nothing short of a crime, no matter how “legal” and “in the best interest of the people” it has been set up to appear.

So no matter how you feel about Jane Burgermeister or her allegations in totality, the real and urgent problem we face right now is the possibility of forced vaccinations against the swine flu – a threat that is being unreasonably hyped by WHO and health agencies around the world, despite the fact that your chances of being struck by lightning is 2,300 percent higher than your risk of contracting and dying from the swine flu…

Even former Presidential candidate, Congressman Ron Paul (who is also a doctor) has gone on record stating that the swine flu is little more than hysterical hype for financial gain. In his video address he also reminds you about the outcome of the last swine flu vaccination program, which took place in 1976.

At that time, one person died from the actual flu, while 25 people died by adverse reactions from the supposed life-saving vaccine, and several hundred people developed crippling Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

In his opinion – and I agree – when the swine flu is put into perspective of regular flu deaths, tuberculosis and other contagious diseases, the swine flu is a total non-event.

These massive, international, multi-agency and military countermeasures are absolutely out of proportion to the actual threat of this flu.

When you really consider all the facts and risks, the current crisis response to the swine flu does raise questions about motive. Why the overkill “precaution” of a mass vaccination program against a disease that causes MAINLY mild symptoms and has an extremely low risk of death?

Jane Burgermeister believes she has the answer, and that she can prove it. According to her findings, which are part of her package of criminal charges, the vaccine itself may pose a far greater danger than the virus itself.

Whether or not to believe it is up to you, and I recommend you review the evidence she provides for yourself, such as the criminal charges document and her bioterrorism evidence documentation.

But whatever the truth is, avoiding the implementation of a forced vaccination program is of high importance if you value your life and health and that of your children, friends, and family.
Here is some information you may find valuable. Currently the H1N1 virus does not have the protein required that allows it to replicate rapidly like most lethal flu viruses do. All lethal flu viruses have it except for this virus which is curious. Nobody seems to know how or why it came about especially since it is a blend of regular, avian, and swine versions. It is similar to the actual Attenuated Flu Virus - which is a MANUFACTURED flu virus currently used as a flu vaccine. Attenuated Flu Vaccine is an actual live flu virus that is weakened and used as a vaccine. So, interestingly this first run with Swine flu has acted as a form of "naturally occurring" vaccine given the fact that it is a "weakened" flu virus. Those who were exposed and or got sick but did not perish now will be building a natural immunity to the virus. More likely than not, within the next 6 months the virus will have mutated(this is also purported by the leading global virus monitoring agencies) meaning that it will now have that protein that would allow it to replicate faster thus making it more lethal. A significant increase in deaths would most definitely occur when (or if) that happens. This story goes a bit deeper including the vaccine issue, House Bills - HR 2618 and HR 2749 (which is just passed in the House of Representatives a couple days ago and is now headed for the senate) and the WHO & UN.

Here are a few posts you may find interesting regarding this situation. The video by Barbara Loe Fischer from the NVIC - National Vaccine Information Center is pretty interesting and well worth your time.

A few natural methods would be to get yourself as healthy as possible by eating more raw fruits, vegetables, leafy greens. Take a probiotic supplement or use a superfood supplement that has probiotics in it. Buy and keep in the medicine cabinet the following immune boosting and virus fighting natural supplements:
Oscillococcinum
Colloidal Silver
Zinc Lozenges
Hydrogen Peroxide
Preparation and knowing how to keep yourself healthy & safer is always a good idea. Hope this info. helps a few people.
Isn't "boosting" the immune system a problem too? Over-reaction of the immune system can lead to many problems, just as weak immune response can.
If we follow general health precautions such as, washing hands, wearing a mask when inside the hosptial, staying away from people who are sick, and keeping children home from school when they have a fever, covering our mouths and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, staying home from work when we are sick, we are at least taking the only precautionary measures we can. I will not be getting the H1N1 vaccine due to the lack of research and study able to be done on it what with it being an urgent launching. I do carry with me a small bottle of hand sanitizer which I use after I've touched money, door handles or a grocery cart- that kind of thing. I'm not saying I use it all day long, but it does make me feel better because I know most people do not follow proper hygeine. Once your sick just stay home for 7 days after symptoms start or until you are symptom free.
How about paying close attention to general healthy habits to improve one's own immune system and keep it strong. It seems that most of the people that have died after having contracted the swine flu either had other underlying conditions or a compromised immune system to begin with. The flu and it could be any flu in this situation had free range and no immunity to stop it from making things worse. So keep yourself healthy with nutrition, exercise, sleep and of course following proper hygene.

Athena I am always skeptical about what I touch in public because to often I see people sneezing, coughing in their hands and then not washing...ugh gross.

A good point about staying home when you're sick was also brought up. The world isn't going to end if you stay home a few days to recover but you just might make someone else miserable in the process if you do leave the house. so listen to your body and your symptoms and take proper action to shorten the duration of your illness and keep from sharing with others.

I'm not yet convinced about the vaccine for this flu. The only time we have ever had the flu was after being vaccinated that same year - talk about being angry. Maybe it was a different version of the flu, who knows but it wasn't pretty.

I will stay up to date with what's going and see what develops over the next few months.

Thanks for the links TC and the tips for staying healthy David.
