I know many people like different exercise, and basically exercise is a matter of choice. In fact, for someone to continuously do an exercise, they have to love it. What works for you?
I teach group exercise classes about 8 times a week....my favorite kind of classes to teach are cardiokickboxing, boot camp style and circuit classes. My #1 fave class to teach ( and take) is Spinning!
I have been taking Zumba for a few months now and love it--I am not a good dancer, but this class is very good.
I am now running several times a week--getting ready for a 25k this spring.
I've never taken a spin class, but heard great things about them.
Good luck with your 25K in the spring. I'm hoping to do a marathon in the spring, but I'm a little off my training schedule. I'll have to see how the next month goes.....................:)

My favorite workout is Spinning. Man, I feel so accomplished after a class. And I love when the back of my legs (all the way up to my glutes) are a little sore. My favorite exercise is walking lunges. Same thing, I love feeling the tinge of soreness because that tells me I am working that muscle. Especially since I am trying to firm up my backside.
I really enjoy kickboxing or karate moves. I love the way that they work the entire body, including the abs. I have so many folks ask me how to work on their abs and I swear by Turbo Jam, which uses a ton of standing ab moves and not the traditional crunches.
I also love yoga to build strength and flexibility. It really helps to prevent injury too.
My number one choice is Spinning. I can teach for ever and I prefer to teach more than I like taking classes because I get all motivated and sometimes come close to taking over the class, LOL. Secondly, I like strength training and then Pilates.
I am basically coming back into a workout routine. I would first like to say I have medical clearance from my doctors. I have been serious ill for almost 2 or better years. I am morbitly obese. I wasn't always this way. after my son was killed I put on 200 or more pounds of hbp, asmtha, diabetes, chf, sleep apnea, much more.
Yes I have medical clearance. My son has been gone for 16 years. I think its time I start living. So today I walked 500 steps. I used to be so active. I love swimming, dancing, joining contest, I was in the biggest loser contest. I love Karate took that one semester in collge loved it. OK I'M READY!
I'M SO EXCITED
.....I love fitness walking....I live in a great neighborhood for walking...one of my routes takes me through a park along the shore of the Detroit River...
Personally, I like the free body weight exercises done in a circuit routine. I get the benefits of cardiovascular conditioning while also improving strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. I feel it keeps me in peak performance condition and in better shape than most guys half my age.
