I am a plus size girl. Size 18-20 to be exact. I am supposed to be training for a half marathon. I have had several setbacks - including surgery - but I am ready to get back in the groove, now. I mean, the marathon is less than a month away, I don't think I really have a choice. But I'm having a hard time finding clothes to wear. When I go to the sports stores they have really cute stuff. Stuff that only fits the people who already have the body I want. How do people expect us fat girls to lose weight if we don't have anything to wear?? It's only March, but it's already hot here in Texas and I need to find something cool to wear on my runs. I'm ready to put aside my issues and wear something sleeveless, perhaps maybe even shorts of some kind. But I can't find anything that will fit my giant body. And the stuff I find online is so expensive I can't afford it. I know that running gear is expensive no matter what size you are, but why the workout bras in my size $60??? Sheesh! I just need something to keep these things from knocking me out. But I guess something like that will cost me. If you have any idea where I can get some good workout clothes for plus size women, please share your information with me.

The coolest clothes really are expensive. Until I strike it rich I buy my exercise gear at Wal-Mart. I've noticed the larger sizes. Have you tried there?

Good luck on the 1/2 marathon. You'll do great!
I haven't tried Walmart in a while. I went there during the winter but I haven't been back in a while. I'm definitely going back! Thanks for your input! And thanks for your encouragement. I'm getting nervous!!
Is there a DressBarn near you?
I think I do have a DressBarn. Do they sell workout clothes?
danskin has nice stuff - i'm from texas living in oklahoma so i understand heat and changing weather. i love danskin anything as they have a lot of all cotton shirts and a variety of shorts & crops. don't know where you're at down south but there's apparently an outlet in san marcus - i buy most of mine on ebay. walmart has a brand of danskin but it's kinda hard to find the plus size stuff - i think it's called danskin now and i know it comes in a ladies line as well up to an xl - and the variety is much nicer (naturally!).

and the bra thing? ya - it sucks but unfortunately the better bras are worth it (i'm a 42ddd). but too - i research the heck out of them and buy them new on ebay as well whenever possible. always saves me some serious $$.
Wow, thanks! I never thought to buy workout clothes on ebay. I'll have to check that out.
