I'm a former teacher and current school administrator. I definitely think that we should cultivate healthy living with students. I'm also thinking of ways that I can help teachers manage their stress, as many of us are workaholics.

Beachbody has a few excellent programs for teachers to incorporate into PE classes. View Details HERE. I'm getting this program in my son's elementary school too!

Doris,

I agree with you. Without teaching we can also
'teach' our students by being a great example
for them. It's when they see what we're doing
every single day and they shall follow, whether
it's good or bad.

So better way is to set a good example for them.

My 2 cents,

As teachers we make such an impact on thousands of kids. We don't have to teach them health to model healthy lifestyles. I'm sure all of my students from WAY back to now understand my commitment to a lifetime of fitness. Great group!

I'm constantly teaching my children about eating healthy nutritious foods...though many times they are intent on rejecting these lessons. I do also teach and encourage any who are serious and curious enough to ask questions about ways to improve their health by changing years of bad eating habits. These folks are my heart. Many times, they are just desperate enough to really take hold and go for change.

I devoted last week’s post to salt, and to the fact that we consume, to our detriment, two-to-three times our recommended daily upper limit of salt. The bulk of this excess intake comes unnoticed and hidden in processed and restaurant (especially f…
