I have been making this bread for almost twenty years now.
Most labeled Whole Wheat or Whole Grain bread are not "too" whole. It is easy to make at home... you just need some time to let it rise. You won’t find it anywhere!
This bread is heavy for its size. It lasts a week for my husband and I so fourteen slices might have about ten grams of fiber each. Fiber is very important for our diet. Americans don’t consume the necessary amount.
In addition, whole wheat flour has all the nutrients missing in the white flour. If it is too heavy for you, just blend only flour & yeast.
One more thing... I gave up using salt twenty years ago. You can add it if needed.
Ingredients:
4 cups Whole Wheat Flour
2 cups Wheat Bran
1 TB yeast
2 cups of warm water
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 285F. Meanwhile, let the yeast to rise. When the yeast is ready, mix it with the flour and bran. Knead it until smooth and shape it for a pound cake container. Cook at 285F for an hour and a half.
It is delicious and nutritious!
14 Servings
Enjoy it!
