I use a tbsp of flax seed in my veggie wrap on top of hummus I prepare myself (all natural). It tastes nutty and delicious. I also use it replacing one egg when baking or for fillings. Try this... you will be surprised!

Hi Sharon, Flax seed is so easy to add in to your daily diet. I toss in a tablespoon of flax seed to my oatmeal every morning. Tastes great! My health has improved with no colds reported (yet) this season! Inexpensive and highly effective.

Life without cow and pig

It has been a little over a year not eating red meat or pork. My entire life, I grew up on eating and loving to eat these meat products. Some of my favorite foods included Italian combos, steak drizzled with gorgonzola and rueben sandwiches. Anytime I ate red meat, I always felt tired and as if some brick was just sitting in my stomach. Red meat never settled well for me. After conducting some research on how industrial cows were treated, and the impact of raising and then eating it has on the e… Continue

The next superfoods to eat

New superfoods are always popping up and getting plenty of media attention. As of late, the Pomegranate was in focus, then came along Goji berries and now acclaimed Acai berry. What is a superfood? By definition, a superfood is a term to describe any food that has “remarkable” health properties. Make way for the new wave of superfoods which will soon be found in our beverages, yogurts, ice creams, etc. Here are the newest superfoods making an appearance in a grocery store near you!

Benefits of Flaxseed

Despite it’s tiny size, flax seed (also known as linseed) has been shown to prevent everything from heart disease to breast cancer. Flax seed is not a “grain” per say but it does have a similar mineral and vitamin profile as a grain. In my opinion, flax seed is necessary in everyone’s diet. Flax seed is so important that the USDA updated the food pyramid to include flax seed oil to the “healthy fats” section which already includes fish.

I am not going to list the abundant reasons why flax seed… Continue
