Our blog at weightlossover55.wordpress.com was started to address the unique needs and challenges for those of us over 55 when it comes to fitness and diet (not necessarily ‘dieting’). Men over 55 often see a change in shape that puts their chest where their belly used to be – and women often complain about everything going south - and not just for the winter! Drop by our site often to read a little, offer a comment or two and tell us what…

1 Simple Method = Better, Faster Results

The holidays are fast approaching. Only about 2 weeks until Thanksgiving.

This time of year I bet you don't have a lot of time to workout.

But it is vital right now to do just that. With all the cookies, cakes, parties, and social gatherings...

With one simple method, you can get better, faster results from your workout routine.

My Chat with Bob Harper

Last week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Bob Harper. If you live in a box and don’t know who Bob Harper is, he’s one of the lead trainers on The Biggest Loser TV show. When Bob first began his career in personal training, he had no idea it would take off in such a huge way. Although Bob is a big TV star now, he really… Continue

Women of Faith

I won't be here tomorrow or Saturday. I'll be in Indianapolis at the Woman of Faith gathering. I can't wait. I'm going with my best friend and have been looking forward to this for a long time.

I need a break... we all do. America, we are all about the dream, materialism and go go go. Women were created to rest. Do we? Not many of us do... well that is, some of us rest too much and coin our own destiny as couch potatoes and others of us run so much that we are unable to slow down for… Continue

Artichoke, Anyone?

While cruising the produce aisle of your favorite grocery store, have you ever passed by a display of artichokes and spontaneously reached out and grabbed one? Do you remember what happened? Yikes, right? One of the little thorns at the tips of this odd-looking vegetable may (or may not—maybe it only wanted to attack me!) have pricked you. This more than likely caused you to toss… Continue

How to Survive P90X without Losing Your Mind.

During the past 10 months I have tried and failed P90X a couple of times.

Each time before I stopped I was doing really well, until I got sick, or something else would happen that prevented me from working out for a while, and then I just couldn’t get back into it. I also felt very impatient about the results I expected, and it’s needless to say that the results did not arrive instantly. After each workout I would come up to the mirror anxiously… Continue
