If I’d known that walking a virtual 5K would be so much fun, I would have done it sooner.
But as it turned out, I got to do both the virtual walk and I also visited the Malibu Creek State Park for a hike. It was a great work-out, but I wasn’t able to fast walk for some of the distance, because the trail wasn’t suited for it with all the rocks.
After driving about 30 minutes of beautiful California coastline and a winding entrance road, I parked, grabbed my camera and water bottle, and off I went.
I was prepared because I already had a map of the paths I was going to walk

Not too many people were there, so for all intents and purposes, I had the trail all to myself; however, there were a few people rock climbing and some teenagers were cooling off at the rock pool.
I really enjoyed the feeling of walking, sightseeing, and visiting a oft visited locale in a natural setting quite invigorating, especially when I spend so much time in the city.
It was great to get way from the city for a few hours, and because it’s so close, I know I’ll go back soon.

But, before that, I’m going to another close-by state park.
Stay tuned!
How about you? Did you do anything fun this Labor Day weekend? Were you able to finish your virtual 5K? Or did you run or walk at a sponsored 5K?
I’d love to hear about it or better yet, share some pictures, because
It’s about a healthy lifestyle!
