Have you every reached a weight-loss goal but want to reward yourself with food?

How many times have you told yourself “I met my goal so I can splurge for only one day.” or “I’ve been good, so I deserve a treat.”

When you’ve reached a weight loss goal, or the perfect weight, it takes work to maintain this; therefore, it doesn’t make sense to reward yourself with food.

So, here are thirteen non-food related rewards that you can treat yourself to:

1. A manicure

2. A full body spa – (Yes, men can have either one, too.)

3. A good book

4. A piece of jewelry or a watch

5. A magazine subscription

6. A night out at the movies with your spouse, a friend or even yourself

7. A new shirt or blouse

8. A new cell phone or latest gadget that you wanted

9. A vegetarian cookbook

10. Maid service for a month

11. Music lessons

12. A bottle of cologne or perfume

13. A new Iowa Avenue T-shirt (coming soon…………….:)

I’m sure there are many more ideas, but these will get you started. The next time you think “Reward” think “Healthy” because,

After all, it’s about a healthy lifestyle!

I tend to reward myself with food which is not good. I guess I should change it up, it would be better for me. I want to check out those tshirts too. Just make sure you make 'em big! haha

I really enjoyed this list - #8 is probably my "weakness", although I typically take months to decide on which one I want, hoping that a new model will come out which will force the price of the one I want, down... :) cheap, cheap, cheap....

And speaking of cheap, I like #7, but I tend to NOT buy smaller clothes only because I want to lose more. Its a conundrum for me because while I'm now at least a size or two smaller in pants, I hate to spend the money knowing (KNOWING - positive thinking there :) ) that I will be 3-4 sizes smaller hopefully soon!

What do you all do about those "intermediate" sizes on your weight loss journeys?

I personally wear my clothes until I've lost a couple of sizes - like 2 or 3. I can't see wasting money when I'll be out of them when I lose 10 more lbs. It doesn't bother me because I like big clothes anyway. I love to 'swim' in them. :)

For those interested, I hope to have the T-shirts within the month. I've only designed one, and it takes a couple of weeks to process................................:)

I agree with wearing the clothes a few sizes too big. It doesn't pay to buy them anymore frequently. But, when you're ready for buying new clothes, it feel so good to go through your closet and give away the old ones......................:)
