Well I am happy to report I have lost 2 lbs this past week. I am thrilled.
When starting this program, a few participants asking questions about appetite suppressants. They were concerned about hunger.
Turns out there were no need to be concerned. The diet plan focuses on eating whole foods, rather than processed ‘diet’ foods. If you eat whole foods, you have more energy without the hunger.
This really works considering the other habits the program has you follow:
• Eat every 2-3 hours
• Every meal must contain a lean protein and veggies from whole foods
• Make sure 10% of what you eat is a treat
The program directors provided another tip: when you have a treat, don't allow the treat to replace the lean protein and veggies. Don’t just plan to have a slice of cheese cake for an entire meal. Have the lean protein and veggies, and then have a slice of cheese cake. This prevents the carb cravings you will get two hours later if you just have the cheese cake.
Seems obvious doesn’t it?!?
I must say I have this following thought pattern quiet often when given the daily lessons on this program:
1.) "Well that tip is obvious!"
2.) "Hmmm, I do that already, don’t I?"
3.) Begin thinking of specific examples of how I don’t follow that particular tip.
4.) Create in my head scenarios how I am going to start following that tip.
5.) Surprised yet again that I do not necessarily follow what my own common sense tells me.
Lesson of the day: be a mindful eater.
