So I finally started back running again in late November and it's been going well. Depending on where I am and how I feel and what the weather's like, I run inside or outside. Now that it's been getting seasonably cold again, I'm back indoors when I'm in Delaware at the UD gym. Problem with this variance is the lack of measurable progress (look at me all Urban Affairs and stuff-- my research methods professors would be proud). So I decided to start a running program through the running website
http://www.coolrunning.com. Chris mentioned wanting to run a 5K at some point in time, and right now my athleticism level is pretty close to "couch," so I thought their eight-week running program called "Couch to 5K" was appropriate. (The program is located here:
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). Eight weeks, three times a week, is what they recommend, but you can stretch it out longer if needed. Shorter is not recommended, even if you're totally sure you can. So hey, I've got a blog here to record progress. On iCal, on my Mac, I track when I go to the gym or go running, but there isn't enough room for how the running was or progress or problems or anything. So hopefully, this'll serve as that. I thought I started on Monday, but I got some details of Day 1 wrong, so I technically start tomorrow after work! Woo!
