I read that this morning and it hit me right between the eyes. It's from the Tao Te Ching, by way of Stephen Mitchell.

Failure is an opportunity.

What if I lived my life knowing that? What would that be like?

They say you learn more from your mistakes than from your successes. I think failure works in a similar fashion. I think most people don't see failure as an opportunity, but they should.

Thanks for the light bulb above my head.

Well, we really hear things when we're meant to - I know I've heard this idea before. Probably over and over and over. This time, though, it hit. I'm glad it gave you a light bulb, too.

In my opinion, the only failure is failing to learn from your own failure. By accepting failure, you are basically allowing yourself to take a risk to reach a greater success.

Now back to vacuuming my bedroom.

Regards,

JJ
