Too much exercise? Is there such a thing?

I read about it. Did the research. Talk to the ppl.
The formula, is simple.
intake> output= fat
intake< output= weightloss
intake=output = maintenance

So I figure, all I had to do, was to limit my calories and increase my activity.
Healthier choices, more exercise.

Been doing weight training at the gym every day and walking every other evening.
Yesterday, my legs felt tired.
Just my legs, not me per se. I felt like there was an extra 10lbs added to every footstep.

And I was wondering, am I exercising too much?
Is there such a thing?
The guy at the gym doesnt think so.

Hi Christine,
I've been having enough food. Never feel hungry. I just eat healthier - veggies, lean meats, bran cereal, skimmed milk, fruits etc.
And since i just started back at the gym, I've been doing circuit training (where I work a little of everything), which includes legs.
I guess u may have a point in the pushing my body too fast I guess. I loathe to take a break though - I live in fear of the slippery slope - a break today might lead to a more frequent 'breaks' then I stop going altogether. :(

Perhaps you should do your weight training every other day and walk every evening. That way you can give your legs a rest with the weight training but still feel like you are not taking a break by walking everyday. As well, I hope you stretch after each work out (including the walking).

I agree with tzuzan. Walking everyday is a good thing. When you're weight training, you need to give your muscles a chance to recover; working a different muscle group on alternating days. One day, your legs, the next day, your arms, etc.

Your formula

I appreciate the advice everyone and I will be looking into which formula works best for me.
