So I jumped on the scale today and it read 264 which means that I lost 4 pounds this week. I am excited to say the least considering I have not lost this much weight since the first few weeks I started my weight loss plan. The only change I had made this week was the type of carbs that I had included in my meals. Usually I would eat things like toast for breakfast, wheat bread with sandwhiches, and wheat pasta or brown rice with my dinner. This week I had oatmeal for breakfast with my eggs, grilled chicken salads for lunches and lots of green veggies with my dinner. I didn't eliminate carbs from diet I just changed the type of carbs and what foods I am getting them from. The change seems to be working for me so I am going to stick with it. The weight loss this week also brings me that much closer to my mini goal of weighing 259 pounds by February 2nd. Lets see what happens next monday!

I believe eating these types of carbs is the best, plus, you get to eat more for the same amount of calories. Calorie for calorie, salad and other veggies pack a low calorie punch.

Great work.....................:)

Hi Joe, 4lbs that's good going! May I ask what exercise are you are doing?

Keep on going forward slashing those lbs!

Take care,
Andrew

Well done Joe! I completetly agree with your carb approach. Avoid all refined carbs, opting for whole foods as close to their natural state as possible. Carbs are not the enemy, only refined carbs.

Hey guys thanks for the comments. Andrew-Because I'm in law school and work full time I don't have a lot of time available to workout. Right now my workout consists of 30 min of cardio (usually treadmill) and 20 mins of circuit training. My goal every week is to do this 4 times a week. With my workouts being really short I'm really trying to focus on the best diet for me personally. With the tweaks I made last week I think I found something that works for me.

Good job, Joe. 4 lbs in one week is terrific. It sounds to me that if you stick to the plan that
you've made you'll have no problem reaching your objective. Again, congrats.
