The New "Fat Tax" Is Coming To a Soda Near You

Recently, some heavy hitters in health research and obesity prevention have stepped up support for a new form of sin tax that is gaining momentum toward a "Fat Tax" in which a levy of 1 cent per ounce would be added to soda's and soft drinks. Has alcoholism or cigarette usage come down since their tax increases? This is just another way for the government to tax and spend, under the guise of public benefit when no such thing accrues to the public.
