Oh! Taking advantage of the nice weather, I went to Almaden Quicksilver County Park last Sunday. The park is about ten minutes drive from home. It is situated in the east side of Santa Cruz Mountains before crossing them to see the Pacific Ocean.

When I moved to my new place, I wasn't aware of all beautiful parks I have around home. This particular one, Almaden Quicksilver Park, used to be a quicksilver mine. It has 135 years of mining history being home for their miners and families.

I entered this time through Hacienda entrance. There is a parking lot, a small picnic area and the trail just start there.

The park includes hiking, equestrian and bike trails. We all share the road :)

I walked over one mile up to 1000 ft. beyond mile 14 to mile 15.

The view from above is gorgeous! Because we are having drought times in California, I can't believe how green that part is. This is because Santa Cruz Mountains get all the fog coming from the Pacific Ocean in summertime just when we need moist and fresh air. The fog is our natural air conditioning.

There were many people walking and riding bikes with such nice weather... The trail is open and goes though shaded sides along the way.

I really enjoyed the walk... I am hungry for more now! :) Next time I will try other entrances.
I hope you will enjoy these photos too.
