Quinoa

I finally remembered to look for and buy some quinoa. Having no experience at all with this product, I took a handful out of the bag and popped it in my mouth. It was quite chewy and actually quite good. I then decided to look up online how to use it. haha. I found out it is supposed to be cooked.
Today I rinsed and washed it and then cooked it in my rice cooker. It smelled so good while cooking and tastes delicious. I just had a spoonful to taste it. I will have some more later.
It's yummy!

I'm a big fan of almost all whole grains like quinoa, couscous, and brown rice. My only problem is eating too much.......................:)

I'm glad you tried it. Did you add anything to it? I've never used a rice cooker. Did it work well?

I was reading along and going "Where did she find cooked quinoa in a bag?" LOL!

Glad you like it!

Another favorite I recently discovered is Teff. Again, good to cook, not eat raw, but makes yummy stuff! The cereal grain I like the best, even better than quinoa is amaranth. Cooked with apples and sprinkle with walnuts it is very tasty.
Congrats on your recent discovery!

@Lisa...I didn't add anything to it yesterday when I ate it. I wanted to taste it and see what I thought. I had read reports about it being bitter, but I didn't find it bitter at all. One lady said she didn't like it, but maybe she didn't rinse it.
It worked really well in the rice cooker. Came out nice and fluffy.
