A Whole New Meaning to Sweat Equity

So I'm innocently scanning the front page of MSN.com, and see this: Sweatiest City, Where do locals excrete 26.4 ounces an hour. Yeah, I gotta click. Turns out, it's Phoenix (sorry Arizona). My parents used to live there, so I can attest to the heat. San Francisco was the least sweaty (who was it who said that the coldest winter he ever spent was summer in San Francisco? Mark Twain, I think). Interestingly (or not), I've lived there, too.

I was surprised to learn that my city ranks 68th in the nation. Along about August, I beg to differ...

Anyway, just thought I'd put it out there. Apropos of nothing, really. But a good Trivial Pursuit question.

In the article, the compared the sweat measurement to a soda can. I know this gives a great visual, but that's just gross..............:(

When I went cross country with my kids, our car had a thermometer. When we were in the Petrofied Forest, it hit 100, and my kids were so excited, they started taking pictures. Of course, they didn't know that a few days later, when we were in Vegas, it would hit 112...................:)

Yeah, I remember my first summer in Palm Springs (California) when the thermometer topped 120... Like walking into a sauna with your clothes on. Wow!

I was amazed to see that New Orleans was only no. 12. I would have thought it would be closer to Phoenix. During the summer, you only have to step outside for a minute and you are soaking wet. I guess there is a difference between ultra-high humidity and actual sweat.

I figure if your deodorant has failed before you leave the house, it's too hot!

I live in AZ--spent years in Yuma....People!! We don't sweat as much as that article says, because NO ONE goes outside! It's flippin' 115 degrees out there! LOL!!!
