Here is a video about subliminal advertising. I highly recommend watching it, you will be amazed. Maybe that's not the right adjective/adverb -- Let me know what you think.

Wow, that is wild! The thing is, there are fast foods ads EVERYWHERE, so even without these subliminal messages, we can't escape from fast food images. I wouldn't be so quick to assume that the one images of the Golden Arches would be the reason for eating fast food; take a look at the bigger picture. Our country is overweight/obese for SO many reasons, and I personally don't think these ads, which are seen for fractions of a second, are to blame. How about addressing the thirty-second commercials for food that are on tv every few minutes? Why can you get a cheeseburger and fries for $.99 but it costs over $5 for a salad? Why are you always asked if you want to 'supersize' your food for only a few cents more?

These businesses have the right to serve whatever types of foods they want, but I think there should be a movement to increase the availability and convenience of healthier choices. I would love there to be fresh fruit stands on every street corner rather than McDonalds, but obviously people are buying their foods or they wouldn't be in business. I think it needs to start with educating all ages about healthy eating.

Well, subliminal or not, on purpose or not... do you really think that blip would encourage someone or influence someone to go to McDonalds?
I mean maybe it could sway a decision on WHICH fast food restaurant to visit, but I have my doubts if that blip, or for arguement's sake any full commercial, would move me to want, or crave McDonald's food.
Good food for thought though (no pun intended... or maybe I did intend it?)

Although, I agree with you about this small blip, I disagree that a full advertisement won't entice people to go to McDonald's. McDonald's, along with so many other companies, have gained their name via advertisements and sponsorship.

As an child who has watched Saturday morning TV, and then gone to the grocery store later in the day, only to bug their mother to buy the latest sugar ladened breakfast cereal. It happens everyday..................:)

What do I think of subliminal advertising? I think it stinks! Also, I thought it was illegal. Isn't it? It should be if it's not.

This is how you feel when you find your destiny. Not what they want us to believe.

Well, this is how I feel and it has nothing to do with the c word and everything to do with Iowa Avenue.

I agree. This is how I feel every morning when I wake up to find new activity, a new member, or a new great discussion going on, Ode To Joy (finale) - Symphony No.9 - Ludwig van Beethoven

What a great video. I can't dance! I'm jealous although I can express my originality in other ways.

I think that chemically processed foods are addictive in nature and that if you consume these products then you might be susecptable to this type of advertising. I am personally against subliminal advertising and think that it is just contributing to a society that already has an unhealthy relationship with food and this just creates an unhealthy advertising environment. It reminds me of the brainwashing movie with the government what is it called???!!!.....I saw the original but they did a re-make....anyway, you get the drift. Great topic!
