Personal Trainers

My doctor told me to get a personal trainer, I went to 2 gyms today and both are very expensive. I have alot of exercise tapes at home, a stepper, a stationary bike,a bowflex, weights to mention a few. Could I do this on my own at home?

From the sound of it, you've got all the right stuff at home. If you have a personal trainer, he/she should be able to help you design a routine using all of this equipment. It would be cheaper, less stressful, and boy, would I love to hear what your trainer recommends, what's working for you, and what isn't working for you.

yes, you can definitely do it at home. Sometimes though it is worth it to sign up for a few sessions to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly and have someone show you proper form as well as to hold you accountable.

I am a personal trainer and have in the past hired my own trainer! You are right though, it does get expensive.

Since you have all the equipment at home, could you find a trainer to come to you? This way you wouldn't have to join a gym and usually a contracting trainer does not charge as much. (since they don't have to give most of the money to the gym) Make sure the person has the right qualifications and insurance though.
