A Year of Blogging

Happy 4th of July! It was exactly one year ago on the 4th that I started my personal blog TB's Journey. I never would have thought that I'd still be writing in it after a year, but it's really become an integral part of my weight loss journey. I've met so many people through my blog and through other sites such as this one: Iowa Avenue. I look forward to another great year of maintaining a healthy weight. Thanks for the great site and you're all welco… Continue

Lifetime Status and a Weight Loss Win

I reached lifetime status at my Weight Watcher meeting last night. Just thought I'd share my favorite "after" picture. It's Me (TB) and my son (AB). Those pants were size 44's and I used to fill them out to the fullest. Now, I'm fitting comfortably into size 32's. I also we… Continue

5th Sentence

((Not sure why this did not get published)) Closest book is "101 Foods that could Save your Life." Have the book sitting here by the computer and haven't even opened it yet. Page 123: 5th sentence Eggplant is thought to have originated in southeast India around Assam and the adjoining area then known as Burma. From Southeast Asia it was brought by traders from the Middle East to the Mediterranean in the early Middle Ages. The Moors introduced eggplant to Spain in the twelfth century and it soo… Continue

Con Air

I love my elliptical. When I exercise early in the morning, I usually watch the local news. When I exercise on the weekends however, I usually wait till the afternoon so I can actually sleep in a little. By afternoon, I don't get much on the TV. I only have the TV hooked up to an antenna and get the few local stations. I do have a VCR hooked up to it. Unfortunately, I have very few options for tapes. I use it to tape "The Biggest Loser" and watch that weekly. Yesterday, I put in a tape of Con Ai… Continue

Thursday Thirteen

“Thursday Thirteen”

Things I see from where I am writing this:

1. TV with the Celebrity Apprentice on it.

2. A shiny gold pom-pom laying by my left knee.

3. Children's picnic table with dried play-doh all over it.

4. Several totes full of books. (trying to pack some away in hopes to get ready to remodel our kitchen.)

5. Games: Sorry!, Dominoes, Chutes and Ladders, Dora the Explorer, Memory, Candyland, etc.

6. Peek a boo blocks.

7. My ima…

LOL..........TB, at one time, I had four children, all under the age of 7. I know a morning routine is hard, but I got up early and at least was able to do a few things before the kids got up. (Well, I couldn't do that as often when a baby wasn't sleeping through the night.)

Hey, TB, you're getting good at the memes. I don't know if you saw it or not, but you might be interested in joining the Healthy Lifestyle Bloggers group. You get a cool badge, too.....................:)

I also blog mostly for myself. I do enjoy comments in that it is nice to know someone got something out of my blog or enjoyed it. I do think of an imaginary audience when I write, but it is only because it helps me think about what I say. It also keeps me aware of using proper grammar, which I enjoy. I don't think comments should be mandatory and I think they should be at a reader's discretion. I do love this community, though, because there seems to be a lot of involvement, a lot of interaction and a lot of suppport and it makes it fun. I love your little icon. Makes me think of a marshmallow snowman!
